Sharon’s background is Finance, Human Resources and was employed with a Manufacturing firm where she was the Treasurer. Her experience gained in the 20+ years dealing with Finance, HR and payroll issues, such as Group Benefits, Group Pensions, terminations, early retirements and other HR / Financial issues, has been an indispensible asset to our company.
Sharon joined TK Financial Group in May 2002, where she was instrumental in the role of Controller/HR. In her current position Sharon works with the financial advisors assisting them in drafting Group Retirement Plans. Knowing the challenges that Human Resource Specialists face, in attracting and retaining skilled employees, she can add value to this process.
In 2000, Sharon moved to Ottawa with her husband Winston. They have two adult children and one little granddaughter. They attend The Met regularly and volunteer at The Ottawa Mission and the toddler Sunday School Program; the little ones are such a blessing. Sharon was very involved in the TK Financial Group Fall Classic Golf Tournament since she joined TK in 2002; assisting with the finance and organizing aspects. The tournament raised over $186,800 in funds for 3 charities: One Match (Canadian Blood Services), Canadian Diabetes Association and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
